Chandigarh, Jan 15 (UNI) Non-judicial stamps upto the value of Rs 10,000 were being issued against cash in Haryana by issue of simple receipt by the Treasuries and Sub Treasuries of the State, Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh said here today.
The step was taken in view of the increase in the value of land and other immovable properties and the difficulty experienced by the public in getting the required stamp papers.
He said that the 21 Treasuries and 82 Sub-Treasuries of the state were also responsible for the safe custody of non-postal stamps and other valuables worth crore of rupees.
He informed that Haryana Treasury and Accounts Department sent the information related to the receipts and payments to the Finance Department twice a week and every month, he added.
Mr Birender Singh said that Haryana Treasuries and Accounts Department had proposed to impart training to 550 officers and official during the current financial year and target for the year 2008-09 has been kept to impart training to 610 officers and officials.
He said that the department had also decided that the training was being imparted by guest faculty on contractual basis or guest lecturers to the officers and officials during the next financial year in the Accounts Training Institute of the State, he added.
