Police nabs inter-state gang of vehicle thieves
Aurangabad, Maharashtra Jan 15 (UNI) The city police have busted an inter-state gang of vehicle thieves by arresting four alleged notorious criminals and recovered seven brand new vehicles from their possession.
According to Commissioner of Police Uddhav Kamble, the gang confessed to have lifted at least 57 vehicles from different parts of the country, including Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur. The crime branch seized two Scorpios, a Tavera, a Santro, a Maruti Zen and two dump-trucks.
The accused have been identified as Manoj Tyagi (40) from Uttaranchal, presently staying in Nashik, Ahmed Ali Khan (28), a resident of Mumbia, Mohammad Jawed (27), a resident of Tingrenagar, Pune and Mohammad Shaker (28), a resident of Mumbai.
The accused have been remanded to police custody till January 23, Mr Kamble said.
