New Delhi, Jan 15 (UNI) Those keen on embarking on a virtual expedition around the world in 30 minutes will have to wait till January 19 when the Indian version of the internationally renowned quiz show 'Nat Geo Genius' kicks off on National Geographic Channel with acclaimed director and actor Rajat Kapoor anchoring the 27-episode voyage.
Speaking at a news conference here today, National Geographic Channel-South-Asia Managing Director Nikhi Mirchandani said,'' Nat Geo Genius received a great response when its international version was first showcased in India a few years ago. We are confident that our viewers will definitely enjoy the Indian version of this acclaimed and popurlar quiz show.'' Rajat Kapoor, who was also in attendance at the conference, said,'' I was quite reluctant when I was first asked to host this show as I had never earlier done such a thing. I was amazed at the kind of knowledge the contestants displayed during the show. Now, I can say that after anchoring the show, I am a more enlightened person than I was earlier.'' Altogether 54 contestants will participate in the show, out of which 18 will make it to the quarterfinals. Out of 18, six will enter the semi-finals and three will be locking horns in the final. The winner will be entitled to travel business class to his dream destination by Lufthansa, which is a co-producer of the show, flight. Each show will be of 30-minute duration.
