Panchkula, Jan 15 (UNI) To promote sports in the rural areas, the Haryana Government has decided to construct mini sports stadia in the rural areas of the state at a cost of Rs 40 crore.
Stating this here today, Haryana Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta while addressing the sports persons after inaugurating 53rd National School Badminton Tournament at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex here said the diet money of sportspersons had also been increased from Rs 50 to Rs 100.
He said that the Haryana Government was also providing a cash prize to those sportspersons who had played at national and international level and had won medals. The State Government had also made a provision of reservation in recruitment for such outstanding players, he added.
In the six days Badminton Tournament about 600 participants of 26 states from all over the country are participating.
