Dravid drops down to 16th in ICC Test ranking

Dubai, Jan 15 (UNI) Following his unimpressive showing in the ongoing series Down Under, former India skipper Rahul Dravid slipped to 16th in the latest ICC rankings issued today.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is the highest-ranked Indian batsman at the 14th spot. Other Indians who feature in the top 20 are Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman at 17th and 18th positions respectively.

Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka heads the batting chart followed by South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis and Australian skipper Ricky Ponting.

Among the bowlers, India captain Anil Kumble, who retained his sixth spot, was the only Indian in the top 10. Injured pacer Zaheer Khan is the next Indian in the list at the 13th position.

Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan occupies the top position followed by South African pacer Dale Steyn.

Australian medium pacer Stuart Clark stands third with compatriot Brett Lee at fourth.
