Apna Dal demands waiving of farmer's loan interest in Bundelkhand
Jaunpur, Jan 15 (UNI) Apna Dal today appealed the Uttar Pradesh government to waive off interest an loans given to farmers in the drought-hit Bundelkhand region and postpone the recovery of other dues for two years.
'' Farmers in the impoverished Bundelkhand are already in a pitiable condition...therefore, the state government should waive off the interest on their loans and postpone other dues for two years,'' Apna Dal national president Sonelal Patel said addressing newspersons here.
''The poor farmers reeling under heavy debt burden commit suicide...Bundelkhand has become a 'suicide place' for farmers,'' he underlined.
The lackadaisical attitude of the UP government is further a matter of concern, Mr Patel observed.
