Nagpur, Jan 14 (UNI) Ten people, including a woman and three children, were killed in six different incidents in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
Three persons were killed in Yavatmal, three in Chandrapur, two in Nagpur, and one each in Bhandara and Buldhana districts.
Three persons, including a woman and a girl, were charred to death when the car in which they were travelling caught fire after being hit by a speeding truck near Patanbori in Yavatmal district late last evening, police said.
The victims, identified as Shridhar Reddy (38), Sapna Reddy (30) and Alechchha Reddy (6), were on their way from Indore, Madhya Pradesh to their hometown in Nirmal in Andhra Pradesh when the mishap occurred.
However, the couple's second daughter, identified as Aditi (3), had a miraculous escape as she was thrown out of the car on impact, police informed.
Three persons were killed in two separate incidents in Chandrapur district. A father-son duo of Vasant Kumare (45) and Rakesh Kumare (15) were killed on the spot when their two-wheeler was hit by a car on the outskirts of the city. In the second incident, Bandi Chilake (35) was killed when his scooter was knocked down by a truck near Ghuggus in the district, police said.
In another incident, two persons were killed in a head-on collision between a van and a truck, about 45 km from here, last evening. The victims, identified as Bir Singh (20) and Munna (30), were cleaners of the two vehicles.
In two other incidents, a nine-year-old boy, identified as Himanshu Vaidya, was knocked down by a truck when he was trying to cross the road in Bhandara district, while an aged man, Bhagwan Singh Amar Singh Rajput (65), was hit by a truck in Buldhana district.
