Shiv Sena organises rally to protest farmer's suicide
Nashik, Jan 14 (UNI) Hundreds of Shiv Sena activists and farmers participated in a rally at the tehsil office in Niphad today, to protest the suicide of a farmer.
According to sources, the rally was organised to protest the suicide of Vithal Athre, allegedly due to indebtedness and crop failure.
The rally, which was led by Shiv Sena district Chief Jayant Dinde, taluka Chief Bhagwatbaba Boraste and leader Anil Kadam, began from the Niphad Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) and reached the tehsil office. A memorandum was given at the tehsil office.
The activists raised slogans against the State Government for its 'anti-farmer policies'.
The rally was part of the state-wide programme undertaken by Shiv Sena for total waiver of loans to farmers.
