Barh
respectively
of
Bihar,
during
the
last
24
hours.
Deputy superintendent of police Nagendrapati Tripathi of Sitamarhi here today said armed robbers broke open the shutters of a jewellery shop under Dumra police station area and looted jewellery worth Rs two lakhs early today.
''When challenged by some people sleeping near the shop, the dacoits opened fire at them, injuring two of them seriously,'' he added.
''The injured were rushed to Sadar hospital,'' he said, adding that raids were being carried out to nab the dacoits and recover the looted articles from them.
In another incident at Barh near state capital, armed criminals broke open the shutter of a jewellery shop at local board marketing board complex and looted the ornaments and managed to escape from the spot last night.
Deputy superintendent of police Ashok Kumar Chaudhary said that raids had been being carried out to nab the dacoits and recover the ornaments.
