Nashik, Jan 14 (UNI) Industrialists from Dyane industrial area in Malegaon observed a sit-in agitation before the Malegaon sub divisional officer's office today to protest load-shedding.
As many as 5,000 industrial workers, including labourers along with their families and industrialists, participated in the agitation to protest against load-shedding at the Dyane Industrial Feeder. The protest was led by Shiv Sena MLA from Dabhadi constituency, Dada Bhuse.
Members of the Malegaon Taluka Plastic Manufacturers Association (MTPMA) and Malegaon Taluka Rural Powerloom Development Action Committee also took part in the agitation. Leaders from various political parties like Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party also joined the agitation. The agitation was part of the indefinite chain of agitations by the MTPMA members launched since January 10.
Following the agitation, a meeting took place between the agitators and Sub-Divisional Officer Devidas Chaudhary to resolve the matter.
The Dayne Industrial Feeder has been supplying electricity to 182 industrial units since May 3, 2006. As it is an industrial Feeder there should be no load shedding. But in January 2007, the MSEDCL implemented sudden load shedding without any prior intimation to the Feeder. The industrialists since then made numerous representations to MSEDCL, Nashik, its officials and the State Government but, failed to get justice.
