Agartala, Jan 14 (UNI) The Forward Bloc Tripura State Committee today said that it will fight the forthcoming Assembly polls independently if their demand of three seats is not considered by the Left Front.
FB state committee General Secretary Shyamal Roy said the committee has yesterday decided that the FB would contest in 15 constituencies.
''However, we shall wait till issuance of notification of Assembly election for announcing the candidate list and we have already sent the list of names to national council for approval,'' Mr Roy said adding that FB functionaries would not bow down to CPI(M)'s arbitrary decision.
Members of party's state committee discussed the Left Front's decision of allocating one seat in the coming polls and refuse to accept the front's proposal to fight in one seat instead of FB's demand of at least three seats.
Mr Roy also underlined that the Bloc wants to maintain unity among Left Front but not at the cost of its own interest.
''Why we should be made the scapegoat everytime, if RSP and CPI can contest for more than one seat why the FB will not get two or more seats to contest,'' he added.
