Shillong, Jan 13 (UNI) AICC secretary in-charge, Meghalaya, Maj (Retd) Ved Prakash would visit the state tomorrow to galvanise the Congress' image in view of the coming Assembly election.
Maj Prakash would be here tomorrow to kick off the Congress' election campaign in the state.
He would also pay a visit to Garo Hills to resurrect the party.
The incumbent Congress is facing a severe crisis in Garo Hills with NCP leader Purno A Sangma returning to state politics after decades.
Yesterday, the NCP began its election campaign with its projected Chief Ministerial candidate and Garo stalwart P A Sangma addressing three rallies in East Khasi Hills.
He lashed out at the Congress for failing to projects its own Chief Ministerial candidate in all the rallies.
'' The Congress lost the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections for failing to project a leader. In Meghalaya also, it's the same case, '' Mr Sangma told the election rally.
However, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee president O L Nongtdu said it was not within the tradition of the party to announce the Chief Ministerial candidate before election while confirming Maj Prakash's visit tomorrow.
