Beijing, Jan 13 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today met his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao and informally discussed a host of issues including civil nuclear energy cooperation between the two countries which are now heading for more cooperation in various sectors at a steady pace.
Both the leaders spent about one and a half hours together, and there was a wonderful chemistry between the two leaders ahead of their formal meeting.
According to top official sources, the meeting was wonderful and the two leaders discussed issues and quoted texts from the rich literature from the two countries.
Today's meeting has virtually set the tone and tenor of tomorrow's formal meeting between the two leaders and official level talks before inking MOUs in various sectors.
The Chinese premier Wen Jiabao had hosted the restricted private dinner today in honour of the visiting Indian Prime Minister who opened his three day high profile visit this morning.
Tomorrow, Mr Wen Jiabao is holding a Banquet in Dr Singh's honour.
During the meeting, the civil nuclear energy cooperation figured prominently, and the Chinese Prime Minister looked quite encouraging to go for such a deal with India.
Sources said China's entering into such a deal would address the energy issue, and the role of China in NSG ( Nuclear Suppliers Group) too would be good if India managed to put through its nuclear deal with US and the NSG members role comes into play.
