Wesley Snipes evaded taxes on $38mln from 1999 to 2004
New York, January 12 : Actor Wesley Snipes not only allegedly evaded taxes on 37.9 million dollars he earned from 1999 to 2004, but also attempted to snag an additional 11.3 million dollars in refunds from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), say reports.
The 'Blade' star is said to have done so despite being warned by the governmental agency in 2002 that he was being investigated.
Prosecution in his case claims that the actor joined an anti-tax protest group called American Rights Litigators in 2000, reports the New York Post.
Snipes' trial will begin at a court in Ocala, Florida, near his home at the time of the crime in Orlando, on Monday.
