Timber, liquor smugglers arrested in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jan 12 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police arrested four smugglers and recovered illicit timber and 358 bottles of liquor in the valley overnight, official sources said.
They said police at Bijbehara in south Kashmir during a routine checking arrested one Manzoor Ahmad Ganie at Sangam along with 358 bottles of whisky.
FIR under section 48 Excise Act has been registered against the accused, the sources added.
They said in its drive against menace of timber smuggling, Sumbal Police arrested three smugglers at Bazipora along with eight logs of illegal timber from them.
They said FIR under section 379 RPC, 6 Forest Act has been registered in this regard.
