Tirupati, Jan 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Peoples Forum for Land Rights (APFLR) today urged the state government to distribute at least three acres of land to each family in Chittoor, Nellore, Prakasam and Kadapa districts in the state.
In a letter to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, APFLR Secretary D Ramakrishna said the Forum had collected and consolidated data on 89,760 acres non-controversial lands in this four districts. The data had been handed over to Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasad Rao for the fourth phase of land distribution programme to be launched here on January 19, he said.
He appealed to the government to conduct a joint survey by the Forests and Revenue Departments to settle forests land issues.
He also requested the government to nominate either NGOs or social workers, working for the cause of land rights, as members of the Land Assignment Committees.
