Pongal bonus for civil supplies, khadi, village board workers

Chennai, Jan 12 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government today announced bonus for the state civil supplies, khadi and village board workers on the occasion of Pongal festival.

Like the previous year, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi ordered payment of incentive based bonus for C and D category employees, those who were paid honorarium, those employed in the direct procurement centres and casual workers, Food Minister E V Velu said in a release.

Each of the 16,857 workers would get Rs 350 as incentive bonus and this would cost the state exchequer Rs 59 lakh, he said.

Similarly, for the benefit of 1817 Kadhi workers and 2143 pensioners, the government had sanctioned Rs 50.63 lakh for payment of Pongal bonus, an official release here said.
