Nitco Million to be open race between 'Red Romeo' and 'Autonomy'

Mumbai, Jan 12 (UNI) This year, the Nitco Million, which is scheduled to run tomorrow over a distance of 1400m, appears to be an open battle between two well bred horses 'Red Romeo' (Steinbeck - All Spice) and 'Autonomy' (Razeen - All Heart).

The Nitco Million, a race for three year olds with over 1,400m has record prize money of Rs 17.5 lakhs, with the winner scooping over 10 lakhs. Nitco, one of the richest juvenile races at any racing centre in the winter season, has gained in prize money and prominence.

Red Romeo in his debut led his opposition totally stranded in the straight, whilst easily winning the 1200m De International Cup by 5 lengths from Kiara in an excellent time of 1m11.97s, while Autonomy won the Allah Rakhkha Gold Trophy - Div.II over 1200m in an amazing style totally trouncing the opposition indicating that he is a very good horse.

While there are other contestants fighting for this coveted title, the main battle will be between these two well bred horses and it promises to be a close call.

In addition, the sponsors are offering top end luxury consumer products in the contest linked to betting. Prizes worth over Rs 2 lakhs will be on offer.
