JD(S) leader denies allegation of misuse of govt scheme
Bangalore, Jan 12(UNI) State Janata Dal(S) president Merajuddin Patel has threatened to sue Congress member of the Karnataka Legislative Council Basavaraj Patil Humnabad for hurling false charges against him on the alleged misuse of government schemes in Bidar district.
Addressing newsmen here today, Mr Merajuddin Patel while denying charges that he had got implemented the state sponsored watershed programmes in his private lands has threatened to drag Congress leader to court if he failed to retract false statement on the issue.
Stating that he had allowed the Department of Minor Irrigation to construct a model check-dam for demonstration to villagers in Humnabad taluk in Bidar district after lending one acre of farm land belonging to his family, Mr Patel informed that the scheme itself had such provision.
Accusing that the Congress legislator in the Karnataka Legislative council was facing several charges for having illegally occupied government land and constructed structures. "If Mr Patil failed to withdraw his false charges hurled against me I will take legal course and file criminal defamation cases against him" the JD(S) leader said.
