Chandigarh, Jan 12 (UNI) The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has suspended Sweta Kumari Solanki, Smriti Joon, Gaurav Dhruv, Chandam Shaolin and Navinder Pal Singh for violation of code of conduct.
However, these players can be allowed to play at the discretion of the referee.
In case the suspeded players are allowed to compete, the ITF is to be informed so that the federation could adjust their suspension accordingly and ensure that all the relevant documentation is sent to them.
Smriti Joon and Chandam Shaolin did participate in the India ITF Junior (Grade 3) Tennis Tournament which concluded in Chandigarh today as the communicaiton from ITF was received late here.
Meanwhile, Vijayant Malik and Shiva Sangwan, both of Chandigarh, figure in the boys under-18 singles main draw of 32 in the ITF Junior (Grade 2) Tennis Tournament to be held in Gurgaon from Janury 14.
Both got direct entry on the basis of their ranking.
Vijayant is the fifth highest ranked player in the main draw with a ranking of 289th while Shiva Sangwan is at the 15 spot among the direct entrants with a ranking of 389.
According to the fact-sheet released by the ITF, B Vikram Reddy, who lost in quarter-final in ITF Juniors (Grade 2) in Chandigarh, is the highest ranked player (244th).
Parul Verma of Chandigarh, Mansingh Athare, N Sai Kartik and Ankit Sachdeva have been given wild card entry in the main draw.
Noor Paul, Prerena Mythri Appineni, Ankita Rana and Shweta C Rana have been given wild card entry in the girls singles main draw.
Winner of the girls singles in ITF Juniors in Chandigarh, Nicha Lirtpiraksinchan of Thailand is the highest ranked girls player in the main draw of 32.
