The wedding cake that was a life-size model of the bride!

London, Jan 11 : When deciding a wedding cake, people can really come up with creative ideas. The same applies to an American woman who decided that she wanted a life-size model of herself as her wedding cake.

Chidi Ogbuta planned to renew her vows after 10 years of marriage to husband Innocent.

The 35-year-old decided to go one step further than just having miniature models of themselves on top of the cake.

"Growing up, I always wanted a doll in my likeness. So when we started planning our wedding I told my husband I wanted a unique wedding where my dream would come true," Mirror.co.uk quoted her, as saying.

"I told him I wanted a life-size cake in my resemblance, as I would look on my wedding day. He gave his consent without reservation," she said.

Chidi, of Dallas, Texas, spent months finding a bakery that could do the job for her.

The cake, worth 3,000 pounds finally took five weeks to make, needed two gallons of amaretto, 50lbs of sugar, 200 eggs and weighed a whopping 400lb.

It needed four men to lift it into the wedding venue.

The butterscotch creation has its dress made of icing but the head and arms are of polymer clay.

"Originally, the plan was for two cakes, one of me and one of Innocent, but unfortunately we ran out of time," Ogbuta said.

However, just the one giant cake proved too much for their 500 guests and Chidi added: "Even after we dished it out there was plenty left. We brought the rest home, a week later it was gone."
