Jaunpur, Jan 11 (UNI) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former union minister of state for home Swami Chinmayanand today lambasted the Mayawati led-Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in Uttar Pradesh for ''increasing terrorism in the state''.
''There is an increase in terrorist activities, since Ms Mayawati came to power in UP,'' the BJP leader claimed while addressing the media here.
The recent terrorist attack on CRPF centre in Rampur was an example to this, he underlined, adding it was the first attack by any terrorist outfit on the CRPF jawans.
Besides CRPF, the state police was also responsible to avert such attacks, Mr Chinmayanand said.
''When CM Mayawati and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav are feeling insecure and demanding security from the Centre, then how can a comman man feel protected in the state,'' he said.
Supporting the demand of BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani of honouring senior party leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee with 'Bharat Ratan' this Republic Day, Mr Chinmayanand claimed the former prime minister had always raised his voice against terrorism.
