Sultanpur, Jan 11 (UNI) Ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today accused the Principal Opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) of spreading ''hooliganism'' in the garb of anti-Value Added Tax (VAT) protests in Uttar Pradesh.
''SP is staging VAT protests and befooling students by demanding reinstating of students union polls...it only intends to disturb peace, which BSP will not tolerate at any cost,'' the newly elected BSP state unit president and UP Cooperative Minister Swami Prasad Maurya maintained while talking to reporters here.
Censuring the Congress led-United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime at the Centre for the mushrooming terrorist acts in the country, Mr Maurya noted ''it is the failure of the central security agencies.'' On the debacle faced by BSP in the recently concluded Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls, he claimed that the party's mass base had increased and the trend would continue in future.
