Ranbaxy to launch Chyawanprash Active
New Delhi, Jan 11 (UNI) Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited today said it will venture into the Rs 250 crore Chyawanprash segment, by launching its sugar-free product under the brandname 'Chyawan Active'.
The product will be initially introduced in north India in New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Punjab, and will be introduced to other parts of the country later.
''The introduction of Ranbaxy's 'Chyawan Active' heralds our entry into the Chywanprash segment. It has always been our endeavour to offer quality, safe, efficacious and innovative solutions to consumers,'' said Ranbaxy CEO and Managing 0irector Malvinder Mohan Singh.
According to a report, India houses more than 40 million diabetic patients and while traditional Chyawanprash contains almost 50-60 per cent added sugar, Ranbaxy's 'Chyawan Active' does not contain any added sugar, claimed Mr Singh.
Ranbaxy Global Consumer Healthcare (RGCH) has some of the top-end brands like Volini (pain relieving Gel), Chericof (Cough Syrup) and Pepfiz (Digestive) in its stable.
