Karunakaran wants to please Cong workers after rejoining: CM
Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 11 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achutanandan today said veteran leader K Karunakaran, after rejoinng the Congress, was only trying to keep the party workers in good spirit by making adverse statements against the government.
Mr Karunakaran had ruled the state for quite a long time and during that period he could not make any big difference. How could he bring about a change in three months, he told reporters here.
The veteran Congress leader had yesterday asked the Left Democratic Front government to step down for three months so that he could show them how to run a government.
The Chief Minister said Mr Karunakaran, who had opposed AICC President Sonia Gandhi, sought her blessings and returned to the party.
''After coming back to the Congress, he wants to keep his party workers in good spirit,'' Mr Achutanandan remarked.
