Washington, Jan 11 : Jessica Biel has signed up to star in the romantic comedy 'Easy Virtue'.
The Stephan Elliott-directed is based on Noel Coward's 1924 three-act play of the same name.
In the movie, Biel will be playing the role of American divorcee, Larita Huntington, who travels to the South of France and marries young wealthy Englishman John Whittaker, played by Ben Barnes, on the spur of the moment.
The couple return to England to face his disapproving family, including his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Whittaker, played by Colin Firth and Kristin Scott Thomas.
Screenplay for the pic has been penned by Elliot and Sheridan Jobbins, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Ealing's Barnaby Thompson is producing, while Endgame Entertainment is financing the indie project for London-based Ealing Studios.
The play was first adapted for the big screen by Alfred Hitchcock, who in 1928 made it into a silent movie.
