Infosys adds 11,683 employees
Bangalore, Jan 11 (UNI) Continuing with its big employment drive, IT bellwether Infosys Technologies has added 11,683 employees during the third quarter of the current financial year ending December 31.
The company had a net addition of 8,100 people during this quarter, compared to 4,530 and 3,282 employees during the first two quarters this fiscal.
Talking to newspersons after announcing the Q3 results here today, Company Board Member and Head of Human Resources T V Mohandas Pai said " now we have a total of 88,601 employees on our rolls as on December 31. We have issued job offers to 18,000 people for the next financial year (2008-09).'' The attrition level, which was affecting the spectrum of IT and ITeS sector, had dropped to 13.7 percent in Infosys during the recent quarter from 14.2 per cent in the previous quarter but still marginally up from 13.5 per cent a year ago.
"We are encouraged that the recruitment pool for the IT industry has widened and fears of large talent shortfall appear to be misplaced. Collective efforts in the last few years have resulted in better depth and breadth of talent availability in the market," Pai added.
