Gowda 'asserts' Sonia's Indianness
Bangalore, Jan 11 (UNI) Terming Congress President Sonia Gandhi as a ''true Indian'' and not a foreigner, Janata Dal(S) President H D Deve Gowda today alleged that some Congress leaders in Karnataka have ''succeeded'' in burning the bridge between himself and Ms Gandhi.
Addressing the party's 'Pre-poll preparedness convention' here, Mr Gowda said, ''I never considered Sonia as a foreign woman.'' Alleging that some sections in the state unit of the Congress tried to drive a wedge between the leaders, Mr Gowda said ''People worked to keep me away from '10-Janpath' and they succeeded.'' Declaring that he would not talk to any State Congress leaders on any matter, he said, ''I will interact directly with the Congress chief, if need be, in future.'' The former Prime Minister said he would put his over five decades of public life in black and white, in the form of an autobiography.
