Elephant injures 2, escapes into Bangladesh
Cooch Behar, Jan 11 (UNI) An elephant from Jaldapara went on a rampage today severely injuring two people and destroying several houses in Chengrabanga area of the district.
Forest officials informed that after breaking the fence on the border area here, the elephant escaped into Lalmonirhat area in Bangladesh.
Coochbehar DM Rajesh Sinha said he had spoken to Lalmonirhat DC Md Rafiq to collaborate efforts for its capture.
Forest department high officials and the BDO are presently at the spot.
