Centre sanctions Rs 2,064 cr to Bihar in 11th plan
Munger, Jan 11 (UNI) The Centre has approved a sum of Rs 2,064 crore for development of irrigational facilities and flood control measures in Bihar in the 11th Five Year Plan.
Minister of State for Water Resources Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav told newspersons here yesterday that the Centre had earmarked Rs 3,000 crore for this purpose in the country. He said Bihar has got its ''due share'' in the 11th Five Year Plan.
Mr Yadav said the Ministry of Water Resources had directed its officials to work in coordination with the officials of the state government to expedite the process of implementation of the Centre-sponsored schemes in the interest of the people of the state.
''Timely completion of the central schemes was the state's responsibility,'' he said, adding that the Centre can only provide fund for the schemes.
