Centre allocates addl 72600 MT urea for Haryana
Chandigarh, Jan 11 (UNI) The Central government has allocated an additional quantity of 72,600 MT of urea for Haryana in addition to the allocation of 5.98 lakh MT urea allocated earlier under Essential Commodities Act (ECA) for the current Rabi season.
Stating this here today, Director Agriculture Department Sumita Misra said the total quantity of urea allocated to the state upto January 2008 was 6.70 lakh MT. The total availability of urea fertiliser in the state till the end of December, 2007 including non-ECA allocations, was about 9.65 lakh MT against the requirement of 9.40 lakh MT upto January, 2008.
Urea fertilizer was available in the state in adequate quantity and no shortage would be experienced in the rest of the season too, she added.
Ms Misra said the state was also comfortable in the availability of DAP fertiliser. The state had so far received 3.65 lakh MT DAP against the total requirement of 4.00 lakh MT for Rabi 2007-08 season. Out of the above quantity, 3.27 lakh MT had been sold and 0.38 lakh MT was available in the stocks of private trade and state federations.
She said that these fertilisers were being distributed to the farmers on maximum retail price fixed by the Central government. She advised the farmers to obtain receipts or cash memos or bills on the purchase of fertilisers.
