6 killed in road accidents in TN districts
Tiruchirapalli, Jan 11 (UNI) Six people, including two women were killed and ten injured in four accidents in Tiruchirapalli and Perambalur districts since last night, police said.
They said, two persons, including a woman were killed and five injured, when a car in which they were travelling collided with a State Express Transport Corporation bus at Irungalur on the Tiruchirapalli-Chennai National Highway, near here, early today.
The car was proceeding to Tenkasi from Sriperumbadur, when the mishap occurred.
The injured were admitted to the Government Headquarters Hospital here.
In another incident, two people, including a woman were killed and five injured when a car in which they were travelling hit a lorry at Mangalamedu near Perambalur on the Tiruchirapalli-Chennai National Highway.
The car was proceeding to Chennai East Tambaram from Palani when the incident occurred.
The injured were admitted to Government Headquarters Hospital in Perambalur.
In yet another incident, a retired fireman from BHEL, Govindarajan (62) died when his two wheeler hit a bullock cart at suburban Ganesapuram near here today.
In a similar incident, a 40-year-old temple priest was run over by an unidentified vehicle at suburban Thuvakudi on the Tiruchirapalli-Thanjavur National Highway last night, police added.
