12-hour-bandh stalls life in Manipur
Imphal, Jan 11 (UNI) Life was affected in Manipur today due to a 12-hour-bandh jointly called by the Kuki Students Organisation (KSO-Ghq) and All Naga Students Association, Manipur(ANSAM) in support of the delimitation in Manipur.
All political parties here had urged the Delimitation Commission to maintain status quo in the state, as there were several discrepancies in the 2001 census.
The Union Cabinet had yesterday decided to maintain status quo in Manipur and four other states in the country. All the inter-state bus services were cancelled due to which the streets were a deserted look in some districts. In Imphal, oil depots were open and life went on as usual.
Life was also affected yesterday due to another 12-hour-bandh called by the state Delimitation Watch in protest against delimitation in the state.
