Wipro bags outsourcing contracts from Aircel
Bangalore, Jan 10 (UNI) Wipro Infotech, a leading provider of IT solutions with a comprehensive suite of offerings, today bagged a nine-year outsourcing contract from a Maxis group company Aircel.
Aircel, which is currently operating in ten circles across India with about 9.5 million subscribers, was expanding operations to spread its wings in the remaining 13 circles to position itself as a leading full services pan-India telecom operator in the near future.
To achieve its pan-India vision, Aircel had re-structured its organisation and operational architecture around innovation, scalability and flexibility, according to a release here.
Under the contract, Wipro would deliver next generation business transformation through Business-IT alignment, implementing a future ready IT architecture in accordance with industry standards and deployment of global best practice and tools to sustain comprehensive IT operations over the life of the contract.
Besides, Wipro would deploy component based Service Delivery Platform (SDP) for Aircel to deliver wide range of services, including Multi Channel Access, Real Time Information Delivery, Multimedia Content and VAS.
Wipro Infotech and Global IT President Suresh Vaswani said ''this is a strategic relationship for Wipro and we are committed to making it a showcase in the global telecom industry''.
Terming the alliance as timely, Maxis CEO Sandip Das said ''at this strategic juncture, we as a company are ready to make an impression in the telecom market.
