SGPC suspends principal of its medical institute

Amritsar, Jan 10 (UNI) The Sri Guru Ram Dass Chairtable Trust today ordered the suspension of Dr Ujagar Singh Dhaliwal,Director-Principal of Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, run by the Shriomani Gurdwara Parbandik Committee (SGPC).

He has been suspended on disciplinary grounds, the Trust Chairman Avtar Singh Makkar who is also the president of the SGPC said in a release here today.

" Dr Dhaliwal has been placed under suspension with immediate effect in anticipation of the approval of the governing body of Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital Trust, Amritsar" the release added.

During the period of suspension his head quarter has been fixed at the office of Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Dental Sciences and Research here. He will be paid subsistence allowance according to rules on production of the certificate of attendance from the Principal of the said institute.

Charge sheet will be issuedto Dr Dhaliwal in due course of time.

Dr Geeta Sharma, Professor Pharmacology, Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research will peform the duties of Principal till further orders, the release added.
