Rs 2173.60 lakh proposal for rejuvenation of agriculture
Chandigarh, Jan 10 (UNI) The State Level Sanctioning Committee (SLSC) of the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) in Haryana today approved Rs 2173.60 lakh proposal for the rejuvenation of the agriculture sector and allied sector during the current year.
The proposal was approved during the first meeting of the SLSC held here under the chairpersonship of the Haryana Chief Secretary Promilla Issar today.
Expressing her gratitude towards the Central government for launching the new scheme, Ms Issar advised the concerned department to harness the opportunity to maximum extent to revamp agriculture sector and to achieve the targeted growth rate of 4 per cent in farm sector.
Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary Agriculture said Raj Kumar said the Central government had launched the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna to incentivise the states to invest more in Agriculture and allied sectors.
''It offers considerable flexibility to the states in planning sector and approval of the projects,'' he said.
The State Level Sanctioning Committee discussed and approved the seven project proposals submitted by the Department amounting Rs 1634.10 lakh under stream-I of the scheme and six schemes amounting to Rs 530 lakh under the stream-II.
