Prof assault: bail plea rejected
Ujjain, MP, Jan 10 (UNI) A local court today rejected bail plea by two accused in connection with beating up of a private college principal.
Bhanu Bhadauria and Vikas Khatri were arrested in a late night raid by police for assaulting local Maharaja College Principal Ashish Mehta. The duo were presented before Judicial Magistrate Sanjeev Kumar Srivastava.
Opposing the bail plea before the court, Mr Mehta said both had unleashed a deadly assault on him and their release could threat his life. He requested that the accused not be released on bail.
After hearing both sides, the court rejected the bail plea. The matter would be heard before the district and sessions court tomorrow.
Meanwhile, student units of political parties today staged a demonstration over the incident. The NSUI burnt the ABVP in effigy and demanded ban upon it. On the other hand, the ABVP staged a demonstration alleging that a conspiracy was being hatched to defame it and the Parishad had nothing to do with the matter.
