Bhopal, Jan 10 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered a high-level inquiry into self-immolation attempt by Parent-Teacher Association President Shiv Prasad Ahirwar at the 'Janata Durbar' of BJP MP Virendra Kumar at Sagar on Monday.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed Sagar Commissioner L S Baghel to submit the inquiry report immediately, official sources said today.
Mr Ahirwar, who suffered about 70 per cent burns, is undergoing treatment at the Hamidia hospital here.
The inquiry will cover various aspects including the circumstances leading to attempt to immolate, his earlier announcement to commit immolation, fixing the responsibility of public servant, if any, and preventing recurrence of such incidents.
1 Mr Ahirwar had submitted memoranda for constructing building for a school, which was being run in Bhagwanganj area in Sagar in a rented building. He had threatened to set himself afire if the demands were not met and committed the same at the BJP MP's Janata Durbar.
Opposition Congress had staged a demonstration to protest the incident, a report from Sagar said.
