Mitsubishi Motors' urban models at Auto Expo 2008

{image-MITSUBISHI imiec_10012008.jpg news.oneindia.in}New Delhi, Jan 10: The inaugural day of the ninth Auto Expo 2008 witnessed the launch and unveiling of several new cars in different segments by most of the giants in the automobile sector.

While General Motors launched its premium SUV Chevrolet Captiva, Mitsubishi Motors and Hindustan Motors Ltd (HML) jointly unveiled four models. Fiat India Automobiles Pvt. Ltd (FIAPL) unveiled its proposed offerings for the Indian market, which include models like Linea, Grande Punto, Fiat 500 and Bravo. Mitsubishi Motors and Hindustan Motors Limited have unveiled four products at the current Auto Expo. The products were unveiled by Mr. Ravi Santhanam, MD, Hindustan Motors Limited and Mr. Katsuya Maeda, GM, Product Planning Dep"t., Mitsubishi Motors Corp., Japan.

'i-MiEV' is Mitsubishi"s vision for future in urban commuting. For the first time an electric vehicle can be charged (up to 80%) in 30 minutes flat using a special charging system, as well as charged overnight using household electricity outlet. This electric vehicle balances environmental and driving performances at high level. All in all i-MIEV represents the way forward for a Eco friendly urban commuting car.
