Karthikeyan wins poll for A1GP 'Driver of the Day'

New Delhi, Jan 10 (UNI) After creating motorsport history as the first Indian to win an A1GP race, fastest Indian in the world, Narain Karthikeyan. Won the most one-sided poll hands donw on the official A1GP website in the regular post-race Fan Zone vote.

Karthikeyan received 76.1 per cent vote, clearly ahead than the other three short listed drivers, A1 Team Germany's Michael Ammermuller, A1 Team Switzerland's current championship leader, Neel Jani and local favourite, A1 Team China's Congfu Cheng put together.

This is clearly the biggest margin of victory since the polls were introduced.

A1 Team India took a confident step toward the upcoming race in Taupo, New Zealand on the 20th of January, 2008 with it's first ever A1GP victory since the start of the Series.

Launched in March 2004, the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport is more than just another racing phenomenon, it's an entirely new concept. Pitting driver against driver and country against country for the first time in history, A1GP brings together 22 nations to compete as equals, without financial or technological advantage.
