Mumbai, Jan 10 (UNI) Prices of ferrous metals declined today due to poor buying support from domestic centres like Delhi and Kolkata, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.

Copper heavy was down by Rs 200 per quintal owing to absence of demand. Brass cuttings and Aluminium utensils also drifted lower by Rs 100 per quintal each because of heavy selling pressure.

However, Copper utensils and Brass utensil remained flat on moderate demand.

In the non-ferrous metal categories, Lead ingot tumbled by Rs 100 per quintal due to sluggish demand by bulk consumers.

Copper wire bars, Aluminium ingot, Zinc slab remained steady on moderate demand.

Tin slab and Nickel cathode dipped by Rs 3 and Rs 50 per kg, amid improved offers by stockists, traders added.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 33,800, copper utensils - Rs 31,700, brass utensils - Rs 24,800, brass cuttings - Rs 25,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,300 per kg.
