Deputy Advocate General attacked in Jammu
Jammu, Jan 10: Two youths shot at and critically wounded Deputy Advocate General of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Ajit Singh Dogra, while he was going back home at Lower Muthi in the city outskirts here this evening.
''Two youths, who were probably waiting in a car nearby Mr Dogra's house, fired three rounds at him,'' eye witnesses told the sources.
Doctors were performing an emergency operation as Mr Dogra had suffered three shots in his chest and abdomen, GMC Jammu spokesman Dr Satish Sharma.
''His condition is still critical,'' Dr Sharma added.
A land dispute is being cited as the reason for the murderous attack on Mr Dogra, who had also sought security from the police following an earlier futile attempt, official sources said.
The attackers, however, were at large till the last reports came in.
Police have swung in action to nab the shooters.
