CID siezes opium worth Rs one crore
Kolkata, Jan 10 (UNI) The CID Narcotics Cell today seized 2.5 kgs of opium, estimated to have an international value of Rs one crore, from the Panchkhela village in Nadia district.
CID sources here said the raid was conducted early this morning and opium worth Rs one crore was seized. However, no one was arrested in this connection so far.
In another raid, the CID seized 300 kgs of poppy straw from the house of one Asbahar Sheikh alias Habu and Patu Sheikh. Both of them were arrested.
The duo could face imprisonment for up to two years, if convicted, the CID sources revealed.
