Bharati Shipyard to build Green Field Shipyard in Maharashtra

New Delhi, Jan 10 (UNI) Bharati Shipyard Ltd today said it will build a Green Field modern shipyard in Maharashtra with a capacity to produce vessels upto 100,000 DWT.

''The shipyard at Usgaon near the Dabhol port, spread over an area of more than 250 acres, will be fully operational in the next two years. We have already acquired more than 180 acres of land and are in the process of acquiring balance land,'' company's Managing Director P C Kapoor said in a statement.

The civil work and the capex including installation of machineries at the yard has already commenced.

With increased shipbuilding capacity, the new shipyard will also help boost allied industries, which are also on a higher growth phase and create job opportunities for more than 3000 people, the statement added.
