Hyderabad, Jan 9 (UNI) Congress president Sonia Gandhi will soon decide on the new Andhra Pradesh Congress president, Congress Working Committee member and party in-charge of AP affairs Veerappa Moily said today.
Talking to newspersons here he said, ''UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has fully recovered and a decision on the issue will be taken shortly''.
The party machinery from the state level to booth level would be strengthened, Mr Moily said, asserting that the Congress alone could provide a stable Government in the state.
Earlier, inaugurating the three-day training class for youth Congress activisits, he said the Congress party was growing from strength to strength with the main opposition Telugu Desam Party in ''total disarray''.
He exhorted the party activists to create awareness among the people about the various welfare programmes undertaken by the Congress Government in the state and the party-led UPA Government at the Centre.
Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy announced, amid huge applause that Rs two-a-kg rice scheme would be implemented in the state from coming Telugu new year ''Ugadi''.
