Patna, Jan 9: Judicial work was paralysed all over Bihar today following boycott of court work by about 80,000 lawyers to protest the recent killing of an Additional Public Prosecutor(APP).

Lawyers abstained from work on the call given by the Bihar State Bar Council(BSBC) in protest against the murder of Mr Dindayal Yadav, APP of Jehanabad. Work and cases enlisted for the day could not be taken up in Patna High court, civil court and other courts in the state.

Agitating lawyers demanded immediate arrest of the assailants.

They also urged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to pay compensation of Rs ten lakh to the kith of the deceased and a government job to one of his dependents.

Exasperated over the 'slackness' of the police in arresting the accused, BSBC Chairman Rajendra Prasad Singh alleged that the killers were roaming free.

Mr Yadav was shot dead in Jehanabad district on December 27.

Prior to that APP Ramnaresh Prasad was gunned down in Begusarai last November.
