India-born Singapore businessman dies

Chandran,
one
of
Singapore's
top
businessman,
died
in
a
helicopter
crash
in
the
oil-rich
Riau
province
of
Indonesia
on
Monday,
leaving
behind
a
legacy
of
a
multi-billion
dollar
petroleum
business.
Chandran, 57, is survived by wife Vivian and two daughters, Sharon, 31, and Ashley, 20. He was the founder and chief executive of Chemoil Energy, which was listed in Singapore in 2006 with annual revenue of 4.4 billion US dollars. A Singapore citizen 2005, Chandran had amassed personal wealth of 490 million US dollars.
