Guest Teachers' honorarium enhanced in Haryana

Chandigarh, Jan 9 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to enhance by 30 per cent the fixed rate of honorarium for Guest Teachers in the government schools with effect from January 1.

With this decision, an additional financial burden on the state exchequer would be of Rs three crore per month, Haryana Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta said today.

Besides, Rs 12 crore were already being borne by the government as the expenditure in providing honorarium to these teachers.

The Education Minister said that Haryana Government was committed to provide better facilities to the teachers and a number of decisions had been taken to improve the standard of education in the State.

He said the rate of all teaching categories had been recalculated by giving the hike of 30 per cent to every category.

He said now the School Lecturer would get Rs 105 per period as against Rs 80 per period and total periods in a week would be 30.

Masters would get Rs 70 per period as against Rs 55 per period and they would have to teach 36 periods.

For Hindi, Sanskrit and Punjabi Teacher there would be 39 periods and they would be given a sum of Rs 65 per period as against Rs 50 per period earlier.

Similarly, Drawing Teacher would get a sum of Rs 60 per period as against Rs 45 and they would have to teach 39 periods in a week. JBT Teachers would get Rs 295 per day as against Rs 225 for the full day.
