Panaji, Jan 9 (UNI) The Goa unit of the Indian Coast Guard has organised a series of interactive activities to attract the public on the role of the sentinels of the seas across the maritime borders, before celebrating its 31st Raising Day on February 1.
To begin with, as many as 100 differently abled children would be shown the coast guard ships and helicopter squadron on January 11.
This will be followed by a painting competition for school children the next day at Kala Academy.
The ICG would, on January 17, conduct a search and rescue workshop followed by a live demonstration, to benefit fishermen and barge and boat operators at Malim fishing jetty.
Simultaneously, it will organise a live demonstration by coast guard helicopter and its interceptor boat, in the Mandovi river in front of Malim Jetty.
A two-day beach volleyball tourmanent for men and women at Miramar Beach will follow on January 23 and 24, according to an official release.
