Singapore, Jan 8 (UNI) Singapore will host the first meeting of the India-Singapore Strategic Dialogue (ISSD) in the first week of May this year, with the aim of better understanding each other's views and positions on the global Political, Security and Economic landscape.
The ISSD was set up in June last year during the visit of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee to have better understanding of India and Singapore's views and positions on global issues in areas where the two countries have convergent and divergent interests and cooperation.
The meeting date was announced yesterday by Singapore delegation head professor Tommy Koh during the launch of a book 'The Politics of Change: A Ringside View', which is the work of Nand Kishore Singh, the former Secretary to the Prime Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Bihar Planning Board.
The Indian delegation will be led by Ambassador Satinder Kumar Lambah.
Singapore Foreign Minister George Yeo was the Guest of Honour at the book launch, which was also attended by diplomats and businessmen in Singapore.
